Betty update Betty had her MRI under sedation. T $Betty update Betty had her MRI under sedation. The MRI showed us that Betty has L2 and L3 disc slips and spondylitis on top of the perianal hernia and pelvic fractures. For those not familiar with spondylitis, it is a chronic disease that affects the development of the dogs spine. This occurs in older dogs, and dogs who have had injuries take place. While there is no cure for it, there are medications that can be used to help with any pain or discomfort from it. In Betty's case, it could have occurred from both of the reasons above. We know she suffered trauma, but what we have finally learned is Betty's age estimate. This sweet lady is around 10 years old! She is also not spayed, and her teeth are almost all broken. The vet feels she has at least 2 or 3 operations ahead of her, from most important to least. Betty is now 56lbs. Her skin is so much better, and she is finally starting to regrow healthy hair. She also started therapy today!$

Last night, a local person showed up at The Yamac $Last night, a local person showed up at The Yamac House with a 6 week old puppy that had been attacked in the head by another dog. As soon as we laid eyes on Gracie Mae, our hearts were filled with sorrow, but we knew we had to step in and provide her with the care she so desperately needed. We immediately started critical care and got her to the clinic. While no fractures or breaks are present, she has several puncture wounds to her head and face. Her glucose was low, and infection was present. They shaved her to do wound care and gave her IV fluids, pain meds, and antibiotics. She has significant swelling of her head. The prognosis of the swelling remains uncertain, and we are doing everything in our power to ensure Gracie Mae road to recovery is as smooth as possible. However, we can not do this alone. Gracie Mae is just a baby, innocent and fragile. We are reaching out to our compassionate community for help. We know the cost of her medical bills will be extremely high, especially if the CT Scan will be needed, and we are in desperate need of financial assistance to cover these expenses and give Gracie Mae a fighting chance at a happy, healthy life.
