Boris & Natasha

August 15, 2023

Boris and Natasha had been roaming an area of the on the side of the highway for 2 weeks. As Yamac House was full, we struggled on were to place these kids. Crystal and Tyerll had received multiple calls that pups were still out there while the temperatures got hotter, we could not let these babies suffer anymore. Once again, the rearrangement of Yamac and Hope House began and we set out to rescue this bonded pair for the harsh summer of Texas. They are safe at Yamac House. Stay tuned for updates…

Location: Highway 866 in Goldsmith TX Back Story: Residents in the area had seen the 2 dogs laying in a covert along Highway 866. First date they were seen was August 12th. The Yamac House received a phone call on August 15th at 8:45 at night regarding the dogs. They went out to find them, and were able to get both dogs rescued. First Vet Visit: August 18, 2023. Natasha (Boxer) 50lbs [ ] 4dx was negative, not spayed, estimated to be around 3 years old. Judging by her nipples, she had multiple litters. [ ] Did good in the truck, however panicked at the Vets office. Staff had to remove a smaller dog from the area where they were drawing her blood, due to her reaction towards the small dog. Boris (Dane) 118lbs [ ] 4dx was positive for Tick Fever. 30 days of Doxy. Estimated to be 2 years old, not neutered. [ ] Did ok in the truck while moving. Once stopped at a stop sign/light, he barked at the people next to us. Was very agitated at the Vets office. Initially barked at staff, so they sat in the room with us to give him time to be friendly. Did bark at other dogs, and barked at his own reflection in the glass doors 🙈. Lost his shit when they took his sister out of the room. [ ] For his size, he should be 145lbs. They want him on 5 cups of food in the morning and 5 cups of food at night. Both dogs were vaccinated and received oral flea and tick meds. Both can be spayed/neutered after the 30 day treatment of doxy.

Our dynamic duo are doing well. Boris has definitely found his voice and has become more comfortable. He has put on the much needed weight and has finished his medication for Tick Fever. Natasha is a doll and is definitely a high energy dog. She has a very strong personality and likes to be in charge. She has also gained the weight recommended by our Vet. Both dogs have are house broken, but do need additional training as far as not chewing things. While Boris loves comfy beds, he has destroyed 4 beds so far 🙈. We are working on the “no jumping” with both dogs, as they tend to jump all over you. It’s more of a playful jumping but with Boris size, it’s definitely something he needs to learn. Overall, they both have been very loving to both Tyrell and I. They have a lot of energy and love playing with toys and running the yard. They have not been dog tested yet with other dogs, but they will be tested after their spay and neutered.

Boris is UTD on shots and neutered. Natasha will be spay on 1/25/2024
