Ivar

Hello everyone, my name is Ivar. Somehow I found myself being “surrendered” as a stray to this loud place they call a shelter in Hobbs, New Mexico. When I got there I was pretty afraid and not sure what was going on. Some nice people realized that I was a pretty special boy and took me to a Vet. They took so many x-rays because I cannot walk. Unfortunately, the x-rays couldn’t show the nice people any reason why my legs don’t work. I hung out at the Vet office and all the ladies loved on me. Then a pretty cool lady named Crystal with Rescuers Without Borders came to get me. She talked to me the entire way from New Mexico to Texas. Told me all about this place called The Yamac House and how I was going to live there with dogs just like me! I have been at The Yamac House awhile now. They got me these things called wheels so I can move around better. I also made so many friends, even ones that have wheels too! Crystal took me to her Vet and they determined I was born with straight leg syndrome. Sounds pretty technical but it just means I cannot bend my legs or walk. But let me tell you, I’m a pretty fast boy even on 2 legs! I enjoy playing so much and going on stroller rides around our neighborhood. I still need help and a lot of care each day, but Crystal tells me I am worth all the extra attention. I’m not tooting my own horn, but I am pretty great and a fun companion to hang out with.
