Sophia

Sophia is a 5 year old, female Anatolian Shepherd. She is considered a “special needs” dog, but she doesn’t let her challenges slow her down. Sophia is missing almost all of her tongue and the front half of her lips. Because of this, she needs to be fed a certain way and cannot be outside for long periods of time due to the fact she cannot regulate her body temperature.

While Sophia always has a home here at The Yamac House, we also know this big girl would love a family of her own. She would do best in a home with no cats and much older children, as she is clumsy and very large. While Sophia does have food and toy aggression, she is learning how to share a toy. She also has been a bit dog selective, but has got along great with the other Turks here at The Yamac House. So she definitely wouldn’t mind being the only dog in a home.

Sophia may have a lot of challenging aspects to her, but she is worth the extra time, patience and love! If you would like more information on Sophia, please email Crystal at Rescuerswithoutborders@outlook.com
